We work with hardwood mulch as our default — it breaks down well in DeSoto County soil and looks clean for most landscapes. Cedar, cypress, or dyed colors (black, brown, red) are available on request — let us know what you prefer when you get your quote.
Spring is ideal — usually March through May. A fresh layer going into the growing season helps suppress weeds and lock in moisture right when your plants need it most. Fall installs also work well if you want beds to look sharp heading into winter.
Depends on your bed square footage and how deep we're going. At 2–3 inches deep, a cubic yard of mulch covers about 100–120 square feet. We'll measure your beds and size the job appropriately — you don't have to figure this out.
Usually yes — if existing mulch has broken down enough that the total depth won't exceed 3–4 inches after our install. If your beds already have thick mulch buildup, we may recommend raking some out first to avoid smothering plants.
Most residential jobs are completed in a single half-day visit. Larger properties with many beds or difficult access may take a full day. We'll give you a timeframe when we send your quote.
